And by "strange," I mean that they are surprisingly not that strange, and that is quite an important step for cars that we may be driving in a few decades.

CH Auto Event

Kinja'd!!!

With a name that I thought was the name of the auto show for too long, the CH Auto Event is something a bit more interesting that most other Chinese rip-off family sedan designs.

Based around an all aluminium space frame and clad in carbon-fibre body panels, the Event is powered by a 300bhp electric motor said to let it hit 62mph in less than five seconds and reach a top speed of 124mph. Its range is said to be 125 miles and it can recharge its lithium-ion battery packs in six hours. Its lightweight construction has allowed the total weight of the two seat car to be restricted to 'less than 1685kg.'

Fengshen AX7

Kinja'd!!!

It's a boring SUV, here's the Autocar quote:

Power is provided by a 2.0-litre Nissan petrol engine with 141bhp, though the smart money will likely wait for a newly developed 1.6-litre turbo with around 160bhp scheduled for later in the year.

Hawtai A25

...and another one.

Chery Concept Beta

Kinja'd!!!

Chery is a Jaguar/Land Rover Chinese partner. This Concept Beta SUV is scheduled for launch in 2016.

Chery Concept Alpha

Kinja'd!!!

The Concept Alpha is actually my favorite design from Beijing, and could move some numbers in America, Europe, or other parts of the world.

the Alpha, offers a close preview to the Arizzo 5 saloon, a four-door model with a choice of 1.5 or 1.2-litre engines.

BYD (Build Your Dreams) Tang

Kinja'd!!!

With a 2.0L 4-cyl engine packing 201bhp mated to a 147bhp electric motor, for a grand total of 348bhp, the BYD Tang gives you the tang you want for a price less than most imported cars can, £26,000 after "Chinese government green grants."

Ford Escort

Kinja'd!!!

Yes, this is actually a ford that looks a lot like a Rover.

Dropped from European markets in 2002, the new Escort has been specifically designed for China, with the concept shown in Beijing powered by a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine.

I wonder what the price would be on the CH Auto Event. It's actually not bad looking (albeit, a lot of Koniegsegg in there).

These headlights are similar to the Subaru Viziv's but overall very cool concept.

...and this looks good. Maybe a bit reminiscent to the new 200 but overall Chinese styling has gone up.
